The Tanjore Tradition

A highly specialized form of art, with beautiful ornamental relief work, done with the use of wafer thin sheets of gold and semi- precious stones. Themes are usually Hindu Gods and Goddesses. All paintings are framed in traditional teak-wood frames. Some smaller paintings (5"x 4") are framed in intricately carved metal 'Prabhas".

Prices depend on size, complexity of design, and framing.
